Welcome to my blog. Seriously, the reason I start this blog is because there are so few resources regarding this topic that always gives the administrator very very big headache, LS Retail Data Director.
Well, a little write-up about myself. I started working after failing in my studies for 5 years but at last completed with a decent certificate. My very first job is as a Technical Consultant in a Microsoft partner company dealing with Navision and LS Retail software. Honestly, these software has the functionalities required for small to medium sized Retail business but it is so damn not user friendly I would say. You can do a lot of things as a user which is not good, unless heavy customization is done to the standard functionalities. Yeah, there are always pros and cons with softwares.
Anyway, here's the deal. There are different types of network architecture in ERP, centralized and distributed. In Retail business, sales is the most important piece of the operation, and to provide the best performance and availability is to have a distributed architecture. A stand-alone database for each POS cashier. So how to maintain the master data and get the latest sales information for management analysis in the back office. Do not worry, LS Retail Data Director has come to the rescue, yeah let's hope so at the very least. Hey, stop cursing on this hero, without it I may have lost my job.
Yeah, let's start the topic. Good luck to all of you, do not give up on this guy Hehe.
