Yeah, yeah it is still not about Data director just yet. This step is a very must learn topic for any LS Retail consultant though.
As easy as it is, installing Navision is actually just running of the setup file, choose the correct options, path directory, and bam.. done. That is if everything goes smoothly, what if it asks for .NET framework? what if it asks for Windows Installer? I don't know why but sometimes it just does not work and I will always blame the hardware vendor POS machine not compatible with this Microsoft software. Put that aside, LS Retail is even simpler, double click on the setup and yeah, it is up and running, cool eh. Detailed steps?? may be later when I feel like it. go and try it on your own for now.
